Promoting music on the internet

You can have great music but it doesn’t mean much if no one hears it. Marketing and promotion are essential to recording project. There are several ways to do this but none are as important as promoting and marketing on the internet. There are several ways to do this that I’ll cover in this article.

Social Media:

Social media could be one of the most important tools to use when trying to get you music exposed. Your music and and or video has a great chance of spreading and becoming viral when shared across these various social media platforms. Almost every one has a Facebook profile, so the potential to spread your music on that network alone is huge.

The key is engaging your followers and fans and not coming off too spammy by promoting something each and every time you post on these networks.

When you’re recording a project is great to market it before the release date. You can do this by documenting the recording process and sharing it on social media up until your release.

Many artists abuse Twitter by always dropping links to their music in the feeds of other users. This is spammy and not an effective way to promote your music online. Twitter is best used by establishing a a conversation with your followers first before you you begin pushing your music.

YouTube

If you have a hot video of your single then posting it on YouTube is a must. YouTube also acts like a great social network because fans are able to subscribe and publicly converse about your music visual.

Music Blogs:

Getting you music on blogs is a great way to get validated by someone else as opposed to doing a lot of self marketing and promotion. If the blog has a sizable readership, then this can greatly help your music spread around. Sometimes one blog post can lead to another. Having multiple blogs post your music can give you a lot of traction and more opportunities.
