KRS-One is the truth. I agree that their is no difference between Major Labels and Independent Labels competitive wise. But their is a difference when it comes to the business side of it.

Maybe there’s no difference between the way they market to the people or get the word out. Hell this day and age, the majors are starting to mimick the indies.
The other side though is the money situation for the artist. Jay Rock may get 5cents per cd and sells 200,000 on a major but could sell 50,000 at $4 per cd on strange music (the indie label he’s on), you do the math.
Who cares anyway, don’t we just wanna hear the music? Who cares who is signed with who. I could give a damn If krs is signed with duck down or interscope. If I like the music, I’m gonna buy it regardless of how man he’s sold or who he’s with.
I wish I could understand why hiphop music fans put so much weight of their judgement on an mc on the biz side of things.
Let’s just hear some good music please, eff the numbers, leave that shit to the suits and artists.
