Not bad for an album that was leaked to the public, forcing an early release. You can even stream Wolf on Spotify for free. Goes to show that core fans will support no matter what. I’m almost certain that this album isn’t getting radio play either. I can’t be sure because I don’t listen to radio. I didn’t care much for the first album, Goblin, but Wolf is a solid effort from Tyler. That being said, i’m proud of his success. I knew that there was something unique about this dude when I posted him here 3 years ago.

The indie grind is not for everyone. And it’s certainly a helluva lot easier after  you’ve built a career and fanbase with a major label machine behind you during most of your years as an artist. But Lupe has been expressing how his artistic integrity has been shitted on, for a while now, while under his current label, Atlantic Records. Says Lupe, ”We’re coming toward the end of our relationship so it’s like a going away party.  After this album, I got one [album] left. So, it’s all good for now. They give me my room. I’m definitely not going back into the majors. I’m definitely going indie when we’re done.”

I think Lupe has the kind of fanbase that will support his future endeavors.
